During a disaster, not being able to reach those you care about can be stressful, worrisome, and in many cases, even dangerous - because you may have to risk going and finding them. You should know how you'll be able to communicate with people you need to get in touch with before a disaster. Not only will this relieve your stress, but it's a safety measure, too.

In this article, we'll discuss some of the most dangerous mistakes you can make when making your communication plans. First, we'll discuss the dangers of relying too heavily on cell phones. Then, we'll talk about the importance of making sure that you can access news broadcasts. And finally, we'll discuss the importance of planning silent communication options, like sign language.

(image: image1.jpg)

1Relying Heavily On Cell Phones

In the event that cell phones aren't an option, and there's a problem getting in touch with one another, you need to make sure that you have a backup plan. You can use a landline phone if these are still working. You can also use walkie-talkies. You need to have a pre-arranged family meeting spot where you can gather or where you can leave each other messages. You can hope it doesn't happen, but you should always be prepared for family members to get separated.

So for that reason, you want to make sure that your communications plan is spelled out and that a copy of this plan is in your bug-out gear. This way, everyone knows what to do. If there's a major disaster, you'll have trouble getting news and communicating with others if you aren't prepared for such an event. In major disasters, one of the first things that usually goes is electricity. You can't power up cell phones that need recharging when that happens unless you all have solar chargers, but that won't help immediately if it's dark outside. There are many solar devices that can be used to charge cell phones, radios, and more.

(image: image2.jpg)
2Not Having A Way To Receive The News

You don't want to miss the news, especially because vital emergency information might be shared. So make sure that you have a hand-crank radio. Many of these also work as mini generators and can charge cell phones. You'll be able to get information from weather stations as well as television announcements on VHF. Communication can become vital and extremely dangerous if there's a terrorist invasion.

You need a way to be able to reach others. You can use things like a satellite phone, CB radio, or ham radio. Satellite phones use orbiting satellites to operate rather than having to connect to cell phone towers. They're more reliable than cell phones in an emergency situation - plus, they also have Internet capability.

(image: image3.jpg)
3Overlooking Silent Communication Options

If you're in a group of your family members or friends, you need to be able to communicate silently with each other. This will prevent you from accidentally being overheard by someone who might harm you. For his reason, it's a good idea to either develop a form of silent communication or to learn sign language.

There are many scenarios in which you may not want to be overheard or understood. Of course, codes, like Morse code, could also be an option. But for maximum safety, silent communication is the safest bet.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Now, you have a better idea of some of the more obscure threats to communication that can really put you in danger. First, we've discussed the dangers of relying too heavily on cell phones and followed up with the importance of making sure that you can access news broadcasts. Lastly, we went over the importance of making sure that you plan silent communication options, like sign language.

There's never going to be a guarantee that nothing will go wrong. In a disaster, meeting up with loved ones can be stressful no matter how you plan. But now, you can alleviate some of that stress by being confident that you've avoided making some of the worse mistakes to make when planning for communication.

(image: image-content.jpg)
If you ask people if they would like to survive in a disaster situation, every one of them would tell you yes. But if you ask them how many of them are actually prepared, you'd learn that that's not true. Instead, you'd see maybe only a third of them (and that's being generous) are as thoroughly prepared as they say they are.

In this article, we'll discuss some common misconceptions about what's needed to prepare, and we'll talk about how money is not nearly as much of a roadblock as many think. We'll first discuss why you shouldn't rely only on the government. Then, we'll talk about how you shouldn't give up because you can't afford to buy everything at once. Finally, we'll offer suggestions for increasing your disaster prep budget.

(image: image1.jpg)

1Relying Too Much On Government Assistance

While everyone wants to survive, not everyone will actually work a plan to make sure that happens. There are always a variety of reasons that people give for not preparing. Topping the list is always the excuse that putting a survival plan in action costs too much money. So they don't prepare. They believe that the government will step in and help them.

They fail to realize that the government isn't in the position to help people in the event that a disaster is catastrophic. Sure, the government can step in and help if an area or two is hit hard - but we saw how well that went in Katrina and other disasters. But imagine a disaster of such proportions that it astounds the entire world. If something, like an Ebola crisis, began to hit hundreds of thousands of people in every city and every state, the government wouldn't be able to keep up. If you weren't infected and had to stay quarantined in a place, you would become one of the millions. How well do you think your needs would be met?

(image: image2.jpg)
2Thinking They Need To Get Everything At Once

You can't afford to rely on anyone else, and you can't afford to be not prepared. The problem that most people have when they use the excuse that they can't afford to gear up for survival is that their outlook is far too broad. They're looking at a list of supplies as a whole rather than breaking them down and concentrating on building up in small increments. You can set aside the supplies you need for survival even if you don't have all of the money you need at once because you can do it on a budget.

Even if you live paycheck to paycheck, you can afford to prepare. What you have to do is buy just a few survival supplies each month. As each month passes, your store of supplies will grow. Concentrate on reaching small goals first. For example, you can prepare for a 72-hour emergency first. So what you do is focus your money on buying just what you need for each member of your family to live for three days. Once you have those supplies, then you gradually increase what you have, such as preparing enough food for a week, and you slowly increase those supplies to make sure that you have enough for two weeks and so on.

(image: image3.jpg)
3Not Budgeting Properly

There are always ways to add money to your budget. Try cutting out things that you don't absolutely have to have right now, at least until you get your supplies built up. Budget for everything, and don't waste money.

Use coupons. Buy one, get one free (BOGO) coupons are especially helpful. Always aim to get your food and supplies on sale. Sell some of the items that you have around your home that you don't need or no longer use and then put that extra money toward building up your supplies.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Now, we've covered some major misconceptions about the financial requirements of disaster prep. We first spoke of why you shouldn't rely only on the government. Then, we discussed how you shouldn't give up because you can't afford to buy everything at once. Then, we finished by offering suggestions for increasing your disaster prep budget.

Hopefully, this has given you a better idea of avoiding financial roadblocks when preparing for disaster. If you calmly assess your situation, you'll find you aren't nearly as hopeless as you might have thought. Now, you can be part of that shockingly small margin of people truly prepared for disasters.

                    <description>
(image: image-content.jpg)
When you're in a wilderness situation, you're going to need a fire at some point. A fire is a necessity for cooking, signaling, keeping warm, and it can boost morale. So you need to know how to make one in a pinch. Sometimes, you have to use whatever you have on hand, and fortunately, there are a lot of different ways to make a fire.

In this article, we'll discuss three of the most accessible ways to start a fire in a pinch. First, we'll start with the classic method of rubbing two sticks together and ways you can improve it. Then, we'll discuss actually having a fire starter on hand. And finally, we'll talk about using a battery and steel wool.

(image: image1.jpg)

1Use The Stick Rubbing Method

One of the oldest ways in history is to rub sticks together. This is a method that takes patience and effort, and it can be hard to start the fire. But it can be done. What causes the fire to start this way is found in the friction that you create by rubbing the sticks together. Get enough friction going, and it causes a spark. The kind of wood that you use matters; you can't use wood that's damp because it'll never spark. You have to use wood that's completely dry.

A couple of ways to help get a fire started this way is through the use of a fire plow, which is creating a trough in one stick and rubbing another stick rapidly back and forth in the trough. You can also use a fire bow, which is a method using a curved branch with twine or other material attached that you rub against a board or another branch.

(image: image2.jpg)
2Have A Fire Starter On Hand

One of the easiest methods is to have a fire starter on hand. One of the popular kinds is magnesium. These are usually lightweight bars of some type that you use with a striker to create a spark.

There are also chemical fire starters such as potassium permanganate. Keep in mind, though, that this method is combustible. Other fire starters include things like cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly. There are solar fire starters as well, which use the sun's energy to start a fire by causing sparks to erupt when focused.

(image: image3.jpg)
3Utilize Steel Wool And Batteries

Another easy method to use when creating a fire in a pinch, which is also a fast way, is to use a battery and some steel wool. The type of battery that you use can vary, so you can just use whatever you have on hand, including a cell phone battery if you have one that's useless for communication.

You want to flatten out the steel wool a little. Some people hold the steel wool in the palm of their hands. Make sure that you have on a sturdy pair of gloves to protect your skin if you do that. With the contact points on the battery facing down toward the steel wood, you want to rub it back and forth quickly. The steel wool will smoke, spark, and then you'll see a small flame. Immediately put the wool onto the prepared kindling.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Now, you know the three most accessible ways of fire starting. First, we talked about rubbing two sticks together and how it could be given a boost. Then, you learned about the uses of having a fire starter on hand. Lastly, we taught you how to use a battery and steel wool.

If you're going to be in the wilderness, there's a good chance that you'll need a fire eventually. It's vital for cooking, signaling, keeping warm, and even boosting morale. Now, you'll be prepared with some ways to start fires even when you weren't quite expecting it.

                    <description>
(image: image-content.jpg)
When an emergent event happens, it's highly likely that, at some point, you're going to have to know what to do to protect yourself and those whom you care about. Whenever there's chaos in an area, those intending on doing harm to others will look to find someone to target. They'll want to steal possessions from you, take your money, and, in some cases, cause you physical harm. So for the sake of yourself and those you care about, you need to be prepared.

In this article, we'll discuss three of the easiest and most important ways of protecting yourself against home intruders. First, we'll talk about the importance of arming yourself and keeping weapons on hand. Second, we'll discuss when and where to hide. And finally, we'll talk about training yourself in martial arts.

(image: image1.jpg)

1Arm Yourself

One way that you can be prepared is by having the right weapons to defend your home. Remember that by the time someone is close enough to be able to grab you, the stakes become higher. A person intent on causing harm won't care what he (or she) has to do to subdue you or get you out of his way, so you want to stop a situation as soon as possible. This is why you need to have guns in the home. Sometimes, you won't even have to use it in order to scare off people who intend to rob you or harm you. In many cases, all it takes is for the person to see that you have a gun, and he'll run away.

You need a gun that's capable of long-range shooting (such as a shotgun), but you also want a smaller one, such as a pistol. When there's an SHTF situation going on in your area, you should keep your gun on you at all times. Besides a gun, you could also benefit from having a knife as a weapon. You can keep these on you in hand-to-hand combat, and a knife can quickly convince your opponent to leave you alone.

(image: image2.jpg)
2Hide

Sometimes, though, the best course of action is to hide. The most obvious situation is when you're facing too many opponents. Two to one or three to one are terrible odds, and you could get seriously injured or be killed.

So if you don't feel that your chances of surviving an emergent event are in your favor, then hide (in closets, cabinets, or under beds if need be) and remain hidden until the threat has passed. Try to find the furthest places from entrances and valuables. Teach your family members to do the same.

(image: image3.jpg)
3Learn Martial Arts

You'll want to know how to defend yourself physically if you don't have access to a weapon. Plus, sometimes, having a self-defense skill is all the weapon that you'll need. Then, when you have the proper knowledge and strength, you can use that to your advantage in a survival situation.

The reason that it's wise to know martial arts is because it gives you an edge in the event that you can't get to your weapon or you're outnumbered. Martial arts enables you to even the playing field when you're up against more than one opponent, and getting a weapon or hiding isn't an option. You can learn the skills of martial arts by taking classes that teach karate, kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and more.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Now, we've discussed three of the best methods of protecting yourself against home intruders. First, we learned about the importance of arming yourself and keeping weapons on hand. Then, we talked about when and where to hide. And finally, we went over training yourself in martial arts.

If you're fortunate, you may never need to use any of these tips. But anything can happen, and when it does, it's best to be as prepared as possible. Now, you can move forward knowing that you have information that could be vital to your survival.

(image: image-content.jpg)
Being prepared for a disaster is a wise thing to do. When you're prepared, you can survive both short- and long-term situations that disrupt normal day-to-day living. Many people understand the importance of being prepared. Some of these people will do it alone. Others will join together and form a prepper community, or they'll get involved with one that's already established.

You may wonder if doing this yourself is a good idea. There are several factors to take into account when making this decision. In this article, we'll be talking about some of the pros and cons of joining a prepper community, such as shared supplies and preventing isolation or lack of privacy. In the end, hopefully, you'll have what you need to know if joining a prepper community is right for you.

There are different types of prepper communities. Some of these communities are places where members live near each other in survival homes on one patch of land. Other communities are ones where the members simply share resources. For example, one might share food while the others share medical supplies. This type of community often works on a barter-based system.

There are both pros and cons to joining a prepper community. The main benefit of a prepper community is that there will be more people. Whenever you have a group of like-minded people, it can be easier to accomplish goals and do things such as having help with chores or putting up new shelters. Another pro is that there are also greater survival odds because there's safety in numbers. For example, if there's a need to fight off attackers, you'll have others in the fight with you rather than trying to do it alone.

Plus, everyone can take shifts guarding over the families and the supplies. If you're alone, someone could try to steal your supplies the minute you're gone or the second that you fall asleep. With a community, there will always be someone to keep watch. It's also a plus that there's a social sharing aspect to a community. Knowing that you're not in it alone can be a huge help.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
You'll be able to share meals together, work together to solve problems, and socialize with each other. This will help keep the sense of isolation at bay. In addition, if you have a solid system in place and rules to follow, then taking care of things, like cooking, cleaning, laundry, hunting, fishing, building, and education, will be easier, thanks to the community effort.

There are some drawbacks to being part of a prepper community. Decisions have to be made, and that can cause some disagreements. There will always be people who don't like the way something is set up. For example, some people won't like a barter system, while others will only want that. With different personalities, there will be a greater chance that someone won't like the way something is handled. Lack of privacy and following the rules set by someone else, even when you disagree with them, can be potential barriers to you living happily in a prepper community.

Another con is that there could be frauds in the group and their motives aren't good. These people will want to join for the purpose of learning where you keep your supplies and weapons so they can know how to get into your supplies. You'll recognize these if you see them taking more than they give to the community. There will always be people who will want to abuse the system. These will be people who won't want to do their share of the work or give their share of the contribution.

For many, however, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. After all, there's safety in numbers, and there will always be a higher chance of prospering the more people you have. Now, you hopefully have a better grasp of the pros and cons of a prepper community and can make an informed decision about whether or not the lifestyle is right for you.

<title>Why You Should Always Pack More Clothes</title>

                    <pubDate>December 16, 2021 07:17:05 UTC</pubDate>
                    <description>
(image: image-content.jpg)
When you're in a survival situation, you have to take care of the basics. This includes water, food, and shelter. But clothing is an essential need for your survival. In fact, if you're not prepared with the right kinds of clothes, it can lower your chances of survival.

In this article, we'll discuss the importance of planning your clothing in the best possible way. That includes planning for things you think you don't need and packing for more than just your current location, weather, and season. It also means planning for contingencies.

The kinds of clothes that you choose to bug out with will depend on your location as well as the weather conditions. But it's always best to take more clothes with you than you think you might need. If you've already prepared your bug-out bag with your clothing choices, you might want to take a second look at it. That;s because you might only be basing your decision on where you;re located and the season that you're in - so you opt not to take a jacket along, for instance.

What you don't realize is that even in the summer months, it can still get cold at night. That's why you should bring things like a jacket - even if you don't think the weather is suitable for it and you think you won't use it. It's always better to have it and not use it than to need it and not have it. If you're too warm, you can always take off something like a jacket, but if you're too cold, you can't create clothing that you didn't bring. So it's always a smart idea to keep a jacket in the bug-out bag as well as have a selection of seasonal items. For example, you might not need the long underwear now, but by the time you bug out, it could be a necessary item.

Pack for contingencies. Just when you least expect it, something happens. You could be headed to your bug-out location, and everything is going according to your plan. But then you reach your site, and you trip and fall into the water. You have to get out of those clothes and into something dry - even if it's summer - because if the temperature drops, you could get hypothermia. You can't switch from wet clothes if you don't have extra clothing.

Plus, if you're chilled from getting wet, without a jacket, you'll have to hurry and get a fire going in order to get warm again. Bringing more clothes than you need is a smart thing to do because the wilderness is tough on clothes. It's easy for them to get torn from snagging them on something. It's also easier for them not to last as long. So you want to bring clothes that you can layer - from the lightweight to the medium weight clothing and all the way up to preparing for cold temperatures.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Make sure your bug-out bag contains an extra set or two of clothing. That way, if you have to change, you have something comfortable you can put on. Don't forget to make sure you have extra underwear, socks, and a rain poncho as well.

Now you have a better idea of the best ways to pack your clothing. First, we talked about why jackets are essential, even if it's summer and always hot where you are, and packing for more than just your current location, weather, and season. We also discussed planning for contingencies, like getting wet or tearing your clothes.

(image: image-content.jpg)
Big doesn't always mean better. You can pack a small survival kit in something like an Altoids tin. This is small enough to fit into your pocket, lightweight, and easily accessible. You can put everything that you need to survive for a short time in a small kit. Because it's so small, you can always have it with you. What you put in the tin will depend on where you might find yourself surviving. You might pack your tin differently than someone else would, but some of the basics will remain the same regardless of where you are.

We'll be going through some different types of small resources that can be fit into a shockingly small kit. We'll first be going over food supplies, like fishing equipment and water tablets. Then, we'll be covering medical supplies, such as bandages and medication. Finally, we'll talk about general camping gear, like a compass or a small knife.

(image: image1.jpg)

1Water And Food Supplies

You need a way to be able to get a food supply. This is why many people pack fishing gear consisting of a fishing line, along with a hook or two and some sinkers. Snare wire can also be packed in the tin.

You'll also need something to use to treat water, so it's safe to drink. There are small packets of purification tablets that you can get to fit in the tin. In addition, you can store a folded yet durable water bag for carrying water.

(image: image2.jpg)
2First Aid Kit And Medical Supplies

You can get hurt no matter where you are. So in the kit, you want to pack bandages; and it's always better to pack waterproof, flexible ones that will stay on. You'll also want medication in the tin, such as pain medication, anti-nausea medicines, and anti-diarrhea medication.

Put antibacterial cleanser packets or sanitizer packets in the tin. This can be used to clean injuries as well as to disinfect items. Add an antibiotic ointment packet as well. Keep super glue or a small roll of medical tape in the tin. Either one can be used to treat a wound that's too deep or big for a Band-Aid. If you have room, keep both.

(image: image3.jpg)
3Camping Gear And Tools

You'll also want something to start a fire, so keep a small fire starter tool in there. A birthday candle, along with some waterproof matches, is also a good solution. A mini, lightweight signal mirror can fit into an Altoids tin. You can find many that are smaller than the size of your palm. Put a square of aluminum foil in your tin, too. The foil has multiple uses, from use as a signal to use for food preparation and cooking.

Pack a compass in your kit. You can find extremely small ones around an inch or smaller in size that will fit into the tin. The tin is big enough to hold a small folding knife as well as some safety pins and a sewing needle. These can be used to repair clothing as well as for things like removing splinters. You can get these in small packets so that they don't take up much room.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Now, you have a better idea of just how much you can put into a small case. We started by discussing food supplies, like fishing equipment. Then, we talked about medical resources, like bandages and medicine. We wrapped up with some general camping gear, like a compass or a knife.

You never know when an emergency will strike. The smaller your kit, the easier it is to carry with you no matter where you go. Now, you can be better prepared no matter what sort of scenario you find yourself in.

                    <description>
(image: image-content.jpg)
You need to know what to do about food when you're in the wild. This basic necessity of survival will require you to learn how to prepare your food as well as how to cook it. You'll need to learn how to spot food that's spoiled - both before and after cooking it. You have to cook your food thoroughly to avoid eating undercooked foods that can make you sick with bacteria or parasites. Not thoroughly cooking food in the wild can be deadly in some cases.

In this article, we'll discuss how to prepare and cook different common types of wild meat safely. First, we'll discuss the warning signs and preparation for safely eating fish. Then, we'll cover how to prepare birds. And finally, we'll talk about how to prepare larger animals like mammals.

(image: image1.jpg)

1Fish

Many people turn to fish as a source of food in the wild. While fish is good, it doesn't have a lot of fatty meat on it, which is something that you need. Fish has sure warning signs when it's spoiled. First is the smell, but if it doesn't have an odor, that doesn't mean it's good to eat. If you push on the side of a fish and the indention you make doesn't spring back out, that's a sign the fish is spoiled. Slimy fish should never be eaten.

To prepare it for cooking, you need to clean it. Hold it up and scrape the scales off. Wash the fish, then gut the fish, and remove the entrails. Rewash the fish, then remove the head. Cook the fish in a pan or spear it and cook it directly over the fire. When the fish is ready, you'll be able to flake the meat off easily.

(image: image2.jpg)
2Birds

Birds can also be a good source of food. First, you'll want to remove the bird's feathers before skinning it. Then, after you skin it, take out the insides, such as the entrails, and then cut off the feet of the bird.

You can roast the bird over a fire using a stick you hold or the spit method. If it's a large bird, you'll want to truss it with twine to keep the meat from falling off into the fire as it gets done. Bird meat is done when the juices run clear at the fattest part of the bird.

(image: image3.jpg)
3Mammals

When you're preparing larger animals, such as mammals, for eating, you'll need to take off the hide, then remove the head and hooves or feet. Don't forget to remove the entrails. With larger animals, it can be challenging to make sure that all the meat is cooked safely enough to eat. This is why you want to cut the meat up into smaller sizes.

Animals, such as those listed above, can be cooked over an open fire, or you can use the meat to create meals, like soups in a pot. You can also boil the meat. The meat is thoroughly cooked when it's tender or shreds easily. How you cook the food will determine how long you should cook it until it's done. Many foods can also be cooked on a flat rock. You can also create a grill using pieces of thin metal or wire fencing if you find some in the wilderness. Building a stone oven to cook with is easy to do if you have the natural resources available.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Now, you have an idea of the different needs and preparation required for wild meat. We started by learning some warning signs and the preparation of fish. Then, we went over how to prepare birds. Finally, we wrapped up by discussing how to prepare larger animals, like mammals.

Cooking is one of the most fundamental skills necessary for survival. Learning to spot rotten or spoiled food and how to cook your food thoroughly is of the utmost importance. Not thoroughly cooking food in the wild can be deadly in some cases, so take this lesson to heart. Hopefully, you now have an even better idea of how to survive off the land.

                    <description>

When in a possible survival situation, the last thing that you need is to have to carry a lot of stuff. Your hands need to be free, as well as your body, to be able to move around as quickly as you can. So the less weight, the better. One of the best ways to have the tools on hand that you need, which uses several tools, is to have an all-in-one tool. This should be a tool designed to offer safety, reliability, and aid in your survival. Today, we'll be covering one extremely useful and versatile tool: the A2S Protection Paracord Survival Bracelet. It's pretty impressive how many devices you receive in this item. It does the work of five tools and will save you from having to lug around more expensive survival tools.

The bracelet is made of nylon called paracord, similar to what is used in parachutes. This particular material is designed for survival items or many other uses. For example, it can be used to tie materials, such as wood, together so that you can create shelter. You can also use it to trap animals or for gathering food, such as a line for fishing.

(image: image1.jpg)
The A2S Protection Paracord Survival Bracelet also comes with its own fire starter tools inside the bracelet. The fire starter allows you to start a fire in any weather. The magnesium rod, located at the end of the bracelet, creates a spark by striking it against the fire scraper. If you don’t have anything else, the bracelet’s paracord creates sparks that you can use to light the tinder. <description>

There are so many tools that make life easier. One of these is a chainsaw. But chainsaws are bulky, heavy, and it just doesn't make good sense to lug one around in a survival situation. You have survival essentials that you need to take up space in your bug-out bag, and you just can't give a chainsaw that valuable space. Unfortunately, though, there are going to be plenty of times when you're going to wish that you had a chainsaw with you.

In this review, we'll be going over why the Sportsman Pocket Chainsaw Chain can exactly be what you need in those situations. When there's a fallen tree on the path you're walking, getting it out of the way is going to require the strength of a chainsaw. Since you can't bring one with you, the next best thing to do is to get a Sportsman Pocket Chainsaw Chain. This is the tool that survivalists are all raving over. It lets you clear the areas that you need to clear without taking all day. It's incredible how fast and efficiently it can take down a tree.

(image: image1.jpg)
This chainsaw is a 36" chain, so it's longer than other chainsaws. Plus, it has thick strap handles for easy hold and usage that won't tire your hands out. Having a longer chain is what enables this tool to get through trees and other debris as fast as it does. The length also lets the chainsaw cut more at one time. In addition, this is a two-direction chainsaw with strong teeth that are razor sharp. These can get through even thick wood. That's because these teeth are made with rugged steel that can slice through more of the wood simultaneously.

You'll be able to use it to cut trees more enormous than you imagined possible, and it's precise enough to handle small trees as well as thick vines. Because it's so lightweight, you can hold it up to cut branches that are over your head without a problem. If you need to climb up a tree to cut branches down for something like building a shelter, the tool will easily fit into your pocket. It makes cuts quickly, taking seconds or minutes to get through the branches. This pocket chainsaw can also be re-sharpened with a chainsaw file so you can use it for extended lengths of time. Its durable construction will hold up job after job. It's so tough that it has a lifetime guarantee.

(image: image2.jpg)
The Sportsman Pocket Chainsaw Chain comes with a storage pouch and a loop so you can attach it to your belt. It's the perfect tool for so many uses, including cutting down branches to be used for firewood. In addition, you'll be able to cut thicker pieces, which helps keep your fire burning for more extended periods. It's so easy to use that anyone can handle this tool. All you have to do is position the teeth around whatever you want to cut down and pull the handles back and forth.

Now you know why you should look into getting the Sportsman Pocket Chainsaw Chain. It's convenient, reliable, and shockingly affordable. You won't regret including it in your survival kit.

                    <description>

The proper footwear is one of the most essential survival tools you'll ever buy. It's crucial that when you buy shoes, you choose those that are durable, comfortable, and have a high safety rating for the soles. The Timberland White Ledge Waterproof Boot has a reputation for fulfilling all those needs and more. To begin with, they're incredibly rugged, and that's what you want in a survival situation. You have to have a tough boot that will rise to your expectations when you're faced with a challenging environment.

These boots are also waterproof, which is a quality that can't be stressed enough. You don't want to go walking, hiking, or running, especially in an unknown area, without footwear that's not waterproof. If you do, you could easily be walking around with wet feet, which could lead to the growth of fungus or bacteria as well as other foot problems. The boot's waterproof leather can help keep your feet bone dry, and water can't even get into the seams because those are sealed. Not even the rain can penetrate these boots. Also, because the boot is waterproof, it'll help prevent blisters.

(image: image1.jpg)
It has powerful traction, which means you won't have to spend time worrying about whether your footwear can make it across a slippery or wet path. Instead, you'll know that you're wearing a boot that's going to look out for your feet' well-being and make sure your feet have the tools they need to carry you safely any distance. The Timberland White Ledge Waterproof Boot also sports an EVA footbed. This is an extra comfortable insole that's dual-density, so your feet are cushioned and protected as you wear the boot. It's also perforated, which means that it's breathable and wicks moisture away. The boot also offers a padded collar; that and the tongue help to shore up your ankles so that they're less likely to be injured when you're on the go.

Thanks to the better air circulation the boots have, your feet are kept dryer and more comfortable. The bottom of the boot has a rubber outsole, and it's made using the B.S.F.P construction, which means that it's created with your foot's natural walking ability. This will help you stop quickly. It offers full support of your body and easy flexibility to jump or climb, especially on uneven surfaces. The construction of the sole can get you going with a grip of traction if you have to start in a hurry - like if you have to run suddenly. These features help you to maintain balance regardless of the territory.

With these facts and perks in mind, now you know why we recommend the Timberland White Ledge Waterproof Boot as one of the best footwear options available. It's sturdy, waterproof, and has excellent traction. You should never slack when it comes to selecting reliable footwear. Always choose trustworthy boots!

                    <description>
(image: image-content.jpg)
How many times have you heard someone mention that something happened "without warning?" While it's true that there are plenty of life events that do take place without warning, it's also true that there are plenty of clues for when an emergent situation is imminent. But you do have to pay attention. If you watch the news, you'll see plenty of these clues. For example, all over the world, there are bomb threats. There are bombs detonated, and hundreds of people are sometimes maimed or killed.

There are shootings at malls, hospitals, schools, and colleges. There are hostage situations in office buildings, apartment complexes, homes, and cafes. Sometimes, these events are carried out as a result of one person with a personal agenda, someone who has a beef against others. But far too often, you'll see events like these because of terrorist attacks. Militant cells are waiting to strike and kill innocent people in the name of whatever their beliefs are. Though some of these situations might seem small-scale, these are only the situations that you hear.

You won't always be aware of the deadly disasters that get thwarted. There are often buried news stories that the general public will miss, stories that hint at the death and destruction that's looming on the horizon. If you want to gain an idea of what this could be, all you have to do is pay attention to the news relating to overseas events. These are events like countries stockpiling weapons, mass terrorist cells forming, and the building and testing of nuclear weapons.

Some of these overseas countries are currently conducting nuclear tests in preparation for causing mass destruction to other countries in the future. You might not hear about this on the news, but all you have to do is pull up a search on peace threats, nuclear threats, or possible imminent disasters to get a glimpse of where situations in the world are headed.

There are already plenty of signs pointing to the coming of wide-scale disasters. For example, Ebola centers are being built all over the country. So even though you may not be hearing much about Ebola right now, other than a couple of small cases, the government knows that it's a very viable threat and that widespread loss of lives will be a reality.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
The government knows that the future isn't going to be sunshine and roses. Just take a look at the items that they're stockpiling right now. At this moment, the government is collecting antibiotics, survival food, and emergency water. They're also hoarding millions of body bags as well as weapons and ammunition.

Disasters are coming. It's only a matter of time. The government knows better than to be caught off guard in a disaster. So you need to make sure that you and your family aren't caught off guard. By preparing now, you can survive a disaster at any moment.

Now, you have a better idea of what to watch for, from the increased frequency of orchestrated attacks to government stockpiling. So pay attention to the news, both what it says and doesn't say, and protect your family to the very best of your ability.

                    <description>
(image: image-content.jpg)
When it comes to preparing for survival, most people don't blink at spending whatever money is necessary for most things, but they turn around and skimp on buying what's needed to take care of their feet. That's because most people don't think too much about their feet. Part of the reason for that is when you're in a comfortable living situation, your feet don't give you much grief. But when you're in a survival situation, your feet suddenly become one of your greatest survival tools.

In this article, we'll cover how to pick out the best footwear for these vital tools. We'll start by talking about general quality. Then, we'll go over more specific details, like being sure to get the right size and making sure that it has good grip and arch support. After that, we'll talk about durability and sturdiness. And finally, we'll end by going over how important waterproofing and protection against the elements are.

(image: image1.jpg)

1Designed For Long-Term Wear

For that reason, you must be prepared to take care of them. You start by foregoing the cheap footwear items. Invest in getting shoes or boots that are designed for long-term wear and made to protect your feet.

What you want to look for in foot care items is quality. The better made it is, the better it's going to treat your feet. You want something that's long-lasting because, in the wilderness, the opportunity to replace your footwear isn't going to be as easy as it is in your ordinary world.

(image: image2.jpg)

2Fits You Correctly

You have to have footwear that fits you correctly. If it rubs a blister, hurts your toes, or rides up and down on your heels, then it doesn't fit right. You don't want to be trying to survive and end up with feet that make every step feel like a nightmare.

There's a good chance that you'll be doing a lot of walking. If your shoes don't fit right, there's a high chance that you'll get blisters and infections. This can be extremely painful and even dangerous.

(image: image3.jpg)

3Has A Strong Grip And Support

The soles of the footwear need to have a strong grip. This will help keep you safer in wet, slippery situations as well as when you're walking up or down an incline. Whatever you get should have plenty of arch support.

Since you'll be, more than likely, on your feet a lot more often than you once were, you need that support to keep yourself from developing foot problems. It's true that good footwear is expensive. However, think of this as part of your survival, and don't shy away from spending whatever it takes.

(image: image4.jpg)

4Sturdy And Durable

It will help if you keep your feet in good condition. The survival footwear that you purchase needs to have a higher durability standard than regular footwear. That's because these shoes or boots will have to endure harsher conditions than your everyday footwear.

The bottoms of the shoes or boots need to be thick. In a survival situation, it can be easy to walk across areas that are extremely hot to walk on, wet, or littered with debris. You don't want something puncturing the sole of your footwear and causing you to be injured.

(image: image5.jpg)

5Easy To Clean And Waterproof

Your footwear needs to be easy to clean and waterproof as well. If you think that you can't afford to spend a lot of money on your shoes, you're wrong. You risk them breaking or falling apart in rugged surroundings by getting cheap shoes.

When that happens, it'll leave your feet vulnerable to insect bites, heat, water, bacteria, and fungal growth. You could end up with blisters or other injuries that could pose a danger to your health if they get infected. Good shoes may seem expensive, but in this case, spending that extra on quality can save more important things than your wallet.

(image: conclusion.jpg)
Now, you know the best tips for picking out the best footwear you can. We began by talking about general quality. Then, we went over more specific details, like making sure that you get the correct size and checking for good grip and arch support. After that, we discussed durability and sturdiness. And last, we wrapped up by going over the importance of waterproofing and protection against the elements.

With these tips in mind, you can now make sure that you have the best shoes for any emergency situation. We also recommend that you buy good socks. Get breathable cotton socks, and make sure that you have extra pairs. These will help keep your feet comfortable.
